Helping People and Community Grow

Kozroots Community Empowerment Projects (KCEP) is a grassroots volunteer led organization that focusses on empowering individuals and community through projects related to agriculture, market farming, art and cultural activities, special events and an apprenticeship program for youth. Our goal is to increase the development of local food, and the impact it has on individuals, families, the community, and economy.

Founded in 2015 by local farmers and local food community leaders we set out to engage and empower the local agrifood movement. From farmers to chefs, people stepped up and made our inaugural flagship event The Eastern Ontario Garlic Festival, a success for vendors and patrons alike.

We are determined to build the garlic industry in Canada and get more food growing locally.

We have taken on numerous agrifood initiaves and contributed to the local agrifood development in our region. Learn more on our Project page.

The Eastern Onatrio Garlic Festival takes place each September on the 3rd Saturday at Lamoureaux Park and at the Cornwal Civic Centre located on the Waterfont of the St. Lawrence River.
